This year, as in previous years, Clare Town Council’s Environment Committee is working with Clare in Bloom to increase the impact of our floral arrangements across the town.

We have a total of 86 hanging baskets along with 40 fixed containers to further enhance the appeal for visitors and residents alike during the summer months. We are keen to make Clare as attractive as possible to tourists and encourage them to spend money in our local shops and stay in our historic and lively town.

This year’s planting scheme is a mixture of cascading Begonias, Lobelia,Verbena and Lysimachia nummularia ‘Goldilocks’. The baskets were planted and hung by our
contractor, the Garden Nursery in Constitution Hill, Sudbury, in the first week of June and will hopefully be up until the second week of September depending on the weather.

We have suffered the loss of several street columns in the town so we have had to relocate some baskets.
