Clare Town Council appointed Davina Neale as its new clerk from 1st November 2022. Davina lives in Clare. Her previous work experience has been in accounts and export sales. Having been a Clare town councillor prior to the birth of her second child she is looking forward to using her existing skills and learning new ones. Davina passed her Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) in November 2026, and is now a qualified Clerk. Clare Town Council can then gain General Power of Competence when it has at least two thirds of councillors elected and the Clerk is qualified. Currently there are not enough councillors that are elected, which means that General Power of Competence should be gained after the next election in May 2027.
