Clare Town Council has a number of functions for which it is entitled to levy a rate. It conducts its business through a monthly Town Council meeting, held on the third Thursday of every month (with the exception of August this year). The Environment Committee meets on the 1st Wednesday of every month and manages specific areas of the council’s work, such as the cemetery, grass-cutting and tree maintenance. Committees and working parties make recommendations to the full Council. All committee meetings are open to the public. You can view all the 2018 meeting dates here. Agendas and minutes are available on this page, as well as a list of Environment Committee members. Guidance for parishioners who wish to speak at a council meeting may be found here – an extract from our Standing Orders.
An extensive overview of the Council’s work may be found in the Annual Report 2016-17 which is distributed to every household; pages 6-8 include information on our financial accounts.
A list of councillors with contact details is to be found here. Their attendance records for 2018 can be found here. Attendances for 2016-17 may be viewed on this chart. The records for the previous year, 2015-16 may be viewed on here.
